Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib organized Slogan and Essay Writing Competitions and Awareness Rally on Paddy Residue Management in Government Senior Secondary School, Badli Ala Singh
Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib organized awareness programme for mobilization of school students on paddy residue management in Government Senior Secondary School Badali Ala Singh. Various activities such as painting competition, slogan and essay writing competitions were organized for the school students in which about 100 students and teachers participated.


Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal informed that various training programmes, awareness programmes and other extension activities are being organized by KVK Fatehgarh Sahib for efficient management of crop residue for sustainable agriculture under Crop Residue Management Project sponsored by ICAR under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Dr. Manisha Bhatia Assistant Professor (Home Science) motivated the students to generate awareness in the villages about the ill effects of stubble burning. Dr. Arvind Preet Kaur Assistant Professor (Horticulture) gave detailed information about the impact of residue burning on human health as well as health of the soil. Principal of the school S. Harnek Singh gave away prizes to the winners of the slogan and essay writing competition. An awareness rally on the ill effects of crop residue burning was also conducted by the students, teachers and KVK faculty in the village. S. Naugran Singh Lecturer Economics coordinated the rally.
Teachers of the school, Mrs Kamaljeet Kaur and Mrs Renu Chopra were also present during the programme. Mandeep Kaur, Sandeep Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur, Sonia Devi, Navdeep Kaur, Jasleen Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, Gaganjot Kaur and Preet Kaur were the winners of essay and slogan writing competition. Dr. Ajay Singh Assistant Professor (Animal Science) gave vote of thanks for smooth conduct of the programme.
