Scientist Farmer Interaction on crop Residue Management at village randhawa - 11-07-2018

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Fatehgarh Sahib conducted a “Training Programme on Crop Residue Management” at village Randhawa. Dr. Navjot Kaur Dhillon, Assistant professor, Plant Breeding, KVK Fatehgarh Sahib, made farmers aware of the ill effects of paddy straw burning on the health of natural resources, animals and human beings. She requested farmers to adopt recommended technologies of PAU to manage the paddy straw besides highlighting the activities of KVK and urged the participants to create awareness regarding no residue burning.

Literature on crop residue management was also distributed among farmers. She urged farmers to adopt PAU recommended paddy varieties. Mrs. Kirandeep kaur, gave tips to the farmers for taking soil samples from their fields and pressed on to submit their samples well in time at KVK, Fatehgarh Sahib for judicious use of fertilizers.
