Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Fatehgarh Sahib organized a “Training Programme on Crop Residue Management” at KVK premises. Agricultural machinery operator from different villages had attended the training programme. Around 30 M.Sc. students from Mata Gujri College and 35 farmers and secretary of co-operative banks attended the event. Dr. Mahesh Kumar Narang (Agricultural Engineer) advised participants to adopt the Punjab Agricultural University recommended technologies to manage the paddy straw. He also asked them to take care and maintain tractor and other farm machinery.
He also urged the participants to develop strong linkage with the KVK for adoption of paddy straw management techniques. Dr. Navjot Kaur Dhillon, Assistant professor, Plant Breeding, KVK Fatehgarh Sahib, highlighted the activities of KVK and urged the participants to create awareness regarding no residue burning and adoption of PAU recommended paddy varieties. Mr. Surinder Bansal from Leed bank updated parmers regarding various bank policies for the benefit of farmers by bank. At the end, Dr. S.C. Sharma, Additional Associate Director, KVK, Fatehgarh Sahib encouraged participants to participate to be motivated for natural resource conservation and create awareness among the society.
